The very popular and influential French IT magazine SVM reviewed steekUP in its October issue. Our product is the best in its class, with a rating 4.5 stars of 5. Time to update your scoreboard and congratulate the team for building a product that truly lives up to its ambition.
Here’s an extract, in fluent French:
SteekUp propose différentes formules, dont certaines attractives, à partir de 19,99 par an pour un espace de stockage de 1 Go, jusqu’ à 99,90/ an pour 100 Go, en passant par un 10 Go à 39,90/ an assez bien placé. Pour attirer le chaland, SteekUp propose un test gratuit durant 3 mois avec 1 Go d’espace. De quoi vérifier que la simplicité dont se targue l’éditeur, Agematis, est bien réelle.
De fait, le logiciel Steek , qui doit être installé pour profiter de l’ espace de sauvegarde (à noter que le service Neuf Giga, réservé aux abonnés de Neuf, est basé sur Steek), séduit par son ergonomie-d’ autant que de petites fenêtre explicatives apparaissent à chaque étape , pour vous mâcher le travail. Très rapidement, on sélectionne les dossiers à mettre à l’ abri et on planifie ses prochaines sauvegardes (quotidiennes ou hebdomadaires). La gestion des paramètres avancés (nombre de versions des documents à conserver, protection par mot de passe, indication d’une bande passante maximale de transfert pour permettre à d’autres applications d’accéder à Internet dans de bonnes conditions, etc) viendra ensuite. Bonne idée, Steek apparaît désormais dans l’explorateur de Windows: un clic droit sur un fichier et celui-ci est ajouté à la liste à sauvegarder. Bref, une réussite.

Le Web 3 ‘07

Steek is a partner of this year’s Le Web 3 event, which will be held in Paris/Aubervilliers on December 11th and 12th. Loic le Meur makes France the center of the world for a couple of days, at least as far as internet initiatives go. Not anyone has the power to put the Hexagon on the spotlight, so thanks in advance to Mr. Le Meur for bumping us in, even if some of his surprise guests aren’t always welcomed by the participants. So Loic, now that you’re a Californian, feel free to surprize us your neighbors Pamela A. and Paris H.
I had the privilege of a VIP tour of the event location ahead of the crowd, accompanied by Christophe, the manitou (”manie tout”?) of the proceedings.
